With the gradual improvement of the international economic situation, more and more Chongqing enterprises choose to go abroad to find business opportunities. The Municipal Foreign Economic and Trade Commission announced yesterday that in the first half of this year, Chongqing signed 31 new foreign contracted projects, labor cooperation and design consulting projects, with an amount of US $580.89 million. Among them, the projects are mainly concentrated in the electromechanical industry, and the developing countries less affected by the financial crisis have become the largest customers.

 

According to the person in charge of Chongqing Foreign Economic and Trade Commission, among many investment projects, the electromechanical industry seems to be the hot spot pursued by major enterprises when investing abroad. Data show that in the first half of the year, Chongqing's overseas investment was mainly concentrated in general equipment industries such as motorcycles, automobiles and oil purifier. There were 13 investment enterprises of this type, with a total investment of 34.9181 million yuan, accounting for 59% of the total investment.

 

Another highlight is that developing countries such as Brazil, Malaysia and Sri Lanka have become the main battlefield of Chongqing enterprises' foreign contracting projects. The official said that Chongqing's projects in these countries mainly focus on infrastructure construction such as highways.
